about
Zero is a myriad of dark and melancholic elements presented as an honest exploration of the bands appreciation of traditional songwriting and pop sensibilities, with a new sense of intention and feeling.
‘Zero’ plays off this dark sentiment with a more digestible aesthetic. It speaks on the inability to connect and communicate emotionally with others, even with ones closest. Inhibition and past experience hold us back to truly carrying ourselves authentically and honestly in our lives. On a surface level the delivery of the lyrics feel almost cliche, but mirrored with the Juxtaposition of darker themes it is quite evident that there are deep intentions being presented.
lyrics
Lyrics:
All I want to confess
In everything and everyone
Shallowness
Hollow now and weak
Could you reach out to me now
Some way
Somehow
Wait so patiently
With all uncertainty
Was it too much give away
It was written in your gaze
You could be the one
I could be the zero
I’d be the pessimist
Alone and obsolete
You could be the one
I could be the zero
Pull me out again
With every word you speak
All I want to confess
In everything and everyone
Emptiness
These moments that we repeat
Could you reach out to me now
I can feel it somehow
Like it’s meant to be
Don’t tell me it’s not real
Was it too much to give away
Stay here in purgatory
You could be the one
I could be the zero
I’d be the pessimist
Alone and obsolete
You could be the one
I could be the zero
Pull me out again
With every word you speak
Breaking from these seams
Everything now finds its place
Tied between our binary
It feels the same to me
Now
I could be your Zero.
